Reason, a Season or a Lifetime

A really good friend of mine sent me that email what seems like decades ago. The basis behind it is that people come into your life for many reasons, and the sooner you find out why, the better you are able to know what to do.

I love meeting knew people. It helps me to learn about myself. Those who know me would probably say I'm a twisted individual with "issues". I'm also a pretty self critical person. This can lead to me being hard on people as I try and understand them, which in turn leads me to reflect upon myself.

Something that can be hard for people to understand is that I truly do care about their well being. I love to joke and bug, but its all in the name of fun. I don't think people will ever understand how much it hurts me to know that I caused them harm.

I like to think of myself as an open book, but I'm beginning to realize I only show people certain chapters. Part of the "issues' I guess.

Oh well not sure where this was going, but I do enjoy the writing.

Strange Day

Most of you are still probably a sleep as I write and post this.  Today is Remembrance Day in Canada.  Some of us probably hardly think about it.  I've honoured and or celebrated this day in my own way since University.  It was always a holiday so you have the freedom to do what you want.  Now I could get all philosophical about the use of the word freedom and how it relates to this day but I won't. Not today anyways. Post university I have had to work on this day even in Canada.  It may have been a holiday but I had work to do.  For some reason the weather on this day was always grey and gloomy.  Some years when I could, I would golf.  The weather wasn't great for golf but it was nice to be alone with your thoughts on this day.  I think the grayness and the wetness that would be part of it made it more enjoyable. It's Been a Long Time Since I Left You

I bet a lot of people live their entire life's without having as many stories to tell as it would appear that I'm going to have. I've taken a long break from writing.  I took a break for numerous reasons. Let's start with a list. This blog became too public and I have private thoughts that I didn't need shared. I don't like to air my grievances in public.  If I'm having issues with somebody I tell it to them.  If I'm having a problem in a relationship, I don't feel the need to share it with everybody. Life was going through changes and it wasn't required to be shared all around. I think there are a lot of the same themes in there, but hey it's my list I can do what I want.
