Another one bites the dust

As per usual this has been an interesting week, and it's not even over yet. 

It is official that one of the expats will not be returning after his next rotation. Him and his wife both work here on a 4/4 rotation.  His position has been in jeopardy for several years and it finally has come to an end.  Apparently he was informed this week and they are set to come in this weekend.  We knew it was coming just didn't know when.  We are more concerned with what will happen with his wife.  She has always said that if he isn't here, she wouldn't come back either.  I guess we will find out over the next couple of weeks.  It would be a real loss to see them go.

On a positive note there will be a flat screen tv up for grabs.  Here's hoping I get it!!!

Strange Day

Most of you are still probably a sleep as I write and post this.  Today is Remembrance Day in Canada.  Some of us probably hardly think about it.  I've honoured and or celebrated this day in my own way since University.  It was always a holiday so you have the freedom to do what you want.  Now I could get all philosophical about the use of the word freedom and how it relates to this day but I won't. Not today anyways. Post university I have had to work on this day even in Canada.  It may have been a holiday but I had work to do.  For some reason the weather on this day was always grey and gloomy.  Some years when I could, I would golf.  The weather wasn't great for golf but it was nice to be alone with your thoughts on this day.  I think the grayness and the wetness that would be part of it made it more enjoyable. It's Been a Long Time Since I Left You

I bet a lot of people live their entire life's without having as many stories to tell as it would appear that I'm going to have. I've taken a long break from writing.  I took a break for numerous reasons. Let's start with a list. This blog became too public and I have private thoughts that I didn't need shared. I don't like to air my grievances in public.  If I'm having issues with somebody I tell it to them.  If I'm having a problem in a relationship, I don't feel the need to share it with everybody. Life was going through changes and it wasn't required to be shared all around. I think there are a lot of the same themes in there, but hey it's my list I can do what I want.
