Dreaming of Las Vegas

Last year I went to Las Vegas 3 times within 6 months.  While this may seem excessive to some, it was for different reasons each time.  The first was to escape Christmas, the 2nd was after a work trip to Los Angeles, and the last was for some good old fashioned debauchery.

At the restaurant we eat at in our complex they always play dance music.  Quite often it is music that I associate with being in Las Vegas.  Hearing this music makes me want to plan a trip.  As much as I may enjoy Las Vegas and well really any kind of trip, it's all about who you go with.  Everybody either needs to be on the same page or be indifferent to what is going on and willing to do their own thing.

Anyhow why am I spewing about this now?  Well I heard the songs at lunch today, and I went looking for deals around the time that may work out for me.  I found some decent deals and there are direct flights from Kelowna.  Now I just need to convince one of my best buddies that we need to go and rip it up.  Fingers crossed he agrees.

Strange Day

Most of you are still probably a sleep as I write and post this.  Today is Remembrance Day in Canada.  Some of us probably hardly think about it.  I've honoured and or celebrated this day in my own way since University.  It was always a holiday so you have the freedom to do what you want.  Now I could get all philosophical about the use of the word freedom and how it relates to this day but I won't. Not today anyways. Post university I have had to work on this day even in Canada.  It may have been a holiday but I had work to do.  For some reason the weather on this day was always grey and gloomy.  Some years when I could, I would golf.  The weather wasn't great for golf but it was nice to be alone with your thoughts on this day.  I think the grayness and the wetness that would be part of it made it more enjoyable. It's Been a Long Time Since I Left You

I bet a lot of people live their entire life's without having as many stories to tell as it would appear that I'm going to have. I've taken a long break from writing.  I took a break for numerous reasons. Let's start with a list. This blog became too public and I have private thoughts that I didn't need shared. I don't like to air my grievances in public.  If I'm having issues with somebody I tell it to them.  If I'm having a problem in a relationship, I don't feel the need to share it with everybody. Life was going through changes and it wasn't required to be shared all around. I think there are a lot of the same themes in there, but hey it's my list I can do what I want.
