Rum Running

Ok so I have been trying to take as much rum as possible back to Canada on my return trips.  The thing is I don't want to keep wrapping the bottles in my clothes and stuff because that means I have to bring the clothes back down here with me and as space and weight are at a premium I'd rather not.

So what to do?  Well I asked the other expats and they weren't much use.  So I started thinking.  I was looking around for things I could pack it with and then either recycle or discard once I was in Canada.  Well I swear it came to me in a dream.  We have to drink bottled water while we are here or else we get sick.  So we have a ton of empty plastic water bottles around.  So my idea was centered around wrapping the empty water bottles around the rum bottles and taping it together with duct tape.  So that was 3 or 4 weeks ago that I thought of it, and yesterday I gave it the dry run.  Turns out you need 12 empty water bottles to secure a bottle of rum.  It looks pretty secure and I think it will work.  I will find out soon enough as I'm home this weekend.  Problem is I need to line up a ton of empties before hand.  I have been saving them but I may not have enough.  We will  see.  The picture below is my first try.  Let me know what you think or if you have any better ideas.

Strange Happenings

So is it bad things happen in three's or strange things???  In this case I have three strange occurrences in past several days.  I apologize in advance as this post won't have my normal writing flare. #1  Azuly Just when we think that we can go out and have a normal evening strange things happen.  They have renovated this old bar and we had started to go.  It was quite, it was clean, and there are no hookers.  So last night we went out, had some beers and then got in the truck to leave.  We were going to do a quick lap around town and see what was happening.  We pulled through the intersection and a cop on a motorbike pulled us over. Out of Office Assistant

I'm out of here.  Less than an hour of work left and just over 2 hours until the van leaves for the airport.  It has been a slice but I need this break.  I'm exhausted.  I can't wait to land in Kelowna tomorrow afternoon.  It's going to be my best arrival home yet.  As I mentioned before I won't likely be posting for a few weeks.  Too much fun stuff to do.  Plus don't you all have something better to do than to read my blog???

Ugh

The last couple of months have been interesting.  The relationship ended, and it should have ended at least a year ago.  Unfortunately for all involved it didn't.  I also knew that the end wasn't going to go well.  I knew unless I rolled over and let her steam roll me and take anything she could it was going to go bad.  She never learned the word no.  Nobody ever told her no.  Which unfortunately I did.  I should have known sooner, but you live and you learn. That being said I've taken a lot of crap the last few months.  Non-stop nasty email, constant bad mouthing around town, and passive aggressive posts on social media.  I've tried to take the high road.  I haven't bad mouthed her to my friends or anything.  I don't have to.  When they ask me what happened I tell them it just didn't work out.  I could say a lot more but I don't need to, and this isn't high school.
